75 hours of training, including supervised time in a clinical setting

In North Carolina, the candidate is allowed to choose between a written and an oral examination comprised of 70 multiple-choice items. The candidate must also pass a skills evaluation test the same day.

Requirements to stay active on the registry:
You must contact the Nurse Aide Registry and verify your employment at least once every two years to remain in active status.
